Jatin decided to visit us after having some broken crowns that were 30 years old and needed replacing. He was experiencing some pain and the teeth were very uneven.

A dental crown may be a suitable option to repair a damaged or decayed tooth and protect it for the future. Crowns can be made from plastic or metal, however dental porcelain gives the most natural appearance. A crown is held in place by a dental adhesive, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth.
The dental crown treatment usually takes place over several appointments. During your first treatment here with us in Essex, your tooth will be prepared by removing any decay or damaged tissues. It may also be necessary to remove a little enamel to create enough space for the crown to sit over the top of the tooth. Your dentist will then take digital impressions that will be used in the creation of your bespoke crown, and you’ll be fitted with a temporary crown until it is ready.
Once ready, you will be invited back to Braintree Dental Studio for a further appointment, when your newly created crown will be fitted. Your dentist will check it fits correctly before securing it permanently to your tooth.
To ensure your dental crown looks healthy and remains strong and functional it is important to maintain good oral hygiene. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss regularly. We also recommend regular visits to our dental hygienist.
